Yoo Ra Hong
(South Korean, b. 1992. Lives and works in Zurich)
Yoo Ra works on the border between cinema and contemporary art, using observation and archives as inspiration. Her artistic practice spans various mediuums, with painting and drawing allowing her to exapnd her narrative experimentation.
Yoo Ra is currently completing her MA in Fine Art at Zürcher Hochschüle der Kunst (ZHdK) Zurich. She previously graduated in Filmmaking and Art Theory at Korea National University of Arts and in Fine Arts at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon.
Works of Yoo Ra’s Ripen until Afterlife series as well as her first collaboration with late artist Charlotte Schmid, Commitment to a Ghost, including two new accompanying drawings, are shown in Another Paradise, a pop up exhibition at Atelier Peter Nitz. Vernissage on Friday, 16 February 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m.
